Compared to June, average monthly expenses in July in Latvia and Estonia fell by 1.7% and 2% to 396 EUR and 381 EUR respectively. Average household expenses in Estonia changed little, raising by almost 0.5% to 508 EUR.
These findings were observed from continuous BALTMI research on consumption by Lithuanian, Latvian, and Estonian households, as well as BALTMI household expenses indexes calculated every month.
Average expenses per visit in July changed differently in the three Baltic States. Average basket per purchase in Lithuania raised by almost 1.6% to 11.9 EUR. In the meantime in Estonia and Latvia average basket fell by 3.3% and 5.2% to 14.7 EUR and 10 EUR respectively. In spite of decreased average basket in Estonia and Latvia, average visits per household increased in both countries in July: in Estonia visits increased by 3.8% to 34.7 visits, and in Latvia by 3.7% to 39.7 visits. At the same period average visits to purchase in Lithuania decreased by 3.7% to 32 visits.
